SENIOR RESOURCE CENTER
No Senior Forgotten
The Senior Resource Center supports low-income, isolated, and disabled seniors throughout Santa Barbara County with comfort, connection, and essential resources. As living costs rise, many older adults struggle to afford basic necessities. This program helps them feel valued and remembered.
Each year, volunteers prepare and distribute more than 3,000 personalized holiday and comfort gifts to seniors in assisted living facilities, senior housing, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and private homes.
Gifts include pajamas, knitted scarves and lap blankets, personal care items, puzzle books, stationery, and candy.
Nearly all items are donated by community members, schools, knitting groups, and local businesses.
Seniors Give Back
The Senior Resource Center is also a place where seniors volunteers knit blankets, sweaters, and hats for children year-round. Volunteer woodworkers build handmade wooden trucks, cradles, and toys. Quilters create bedding for hand-painted cribs given to families with young children. Every supply is donated.
